Garden Breakfasts

The dawn of the new season has brought me to a place of romanticism and sheer enlightenment for what could be in the warmth of the Summer Sun.

All this and I’ve taken to nearly daily breakfasts in the garden…

Armed with cafeteire, blanket, slippers and camera we reside to the warmth of our garden. Of course, breakfast in the garden requires PJ’s, stuffed animals, slippers and a bowl of cereal, what else?

And when there is a camera, M* is ready with her best faces.

“I’ll do cheese, Mama!” she said before I snapped this one. Followed by, “This is my pretty face.” Yes, it is, Darling, yes it is…

There is something about early mornings that make me swoon. Something about the way the sun beams through the Cherry Blossoms makes me say, “Oooooooo…” and then hum a little tune about Here Comes The Sun and other such nonsense…

The Cherry Blossoms really are the cream of the Springtime. I remember going to Washington DC in April just to see the Cherry Blossoms come out. Now I have two trees in my own little garden. It really is bliss and I highly recommend them, even if you do suffer from allergies.

By this time, the neighbour boy, who very often reminds me of a character from Julia Donaldon’s Clarice Bean books, began to holler over the fence for little M*. She responded by peering through the tiny hole in the fence.

Now the problem with the neighbour’s boy is that not only will he holler to M*, but to me and then continue to holler for an unlimited amount of time throughout the day. “Sarah? Sarah? I am wearing slippers!” “Sarah? Sarah? I have a t-shirt on!” “M*? M*? Where is M*? I’m eating an ice-lolly!”

For some reason, I found this particular time adorable as M* decided to show said slightly more hollery than average neighbour boy her Robot – a gift from good friends of ours for her first birthday (she is going on three). She’s only really fallen in love with this Robot in the past couple weeks.  A true example of how children do not need nearly as many toys as we tend to purchase.

Peek-a-boo!!

Oh the mornings and all their glory…

**LOVE!**

A Charity Event at The Ritz

On April 15, I covered a charity event at the immaculate location of The Ritz hotel in London. It was a cocktail/canapes sort of evening with lots of interesting people all getting together to support the RNIB (Royal National Institute for the Blind).

Here are some snaps from the evening…

The venue was amazing. And the people were lovely.

And now for the guests…

A familiar face…

One donor have a bit of fun with the camera…

Finally my favourite shot of the evening. This is Victoria, she is a blind opera singer. She was amazing.

Putting the ‘Fro back in ‘Frotography’

This weekend I had the pleasure of shooting one of the most relaxed children’s shoots ever. Welcomed by two adorable girls, {E} & {T}, and their lovely parents into their way hip, 70’s flat in SW London…{E’s} afro was definitely the source of inspiration, oodles of patting, stroking and rubbing my nose in…

The two little girls were just as cool & calm as their parents which made for a perfect day of photos…

Being typical sisters, they were full of love & competition in equal parts.

Mmmm, Daddy love…

It was as chill as an ice box in this house! So many cuddles and smiles.

While {T} was getting lots of baby cuddles, {E} was keeping us occupied with adorable antics…

Gazing out windows, catching up on news & fashion, accessorizing…

{T} was amused…

But comfy. Looks like {E} will just have to join in…

Thank you {Tel} Family for inviting me into your home for the day, the coffee, the chat and the homemade flapjacks! Yum!
