An impromptu meeting at Sketchbook Mag’s pop-up shop on Carnaby Street was the beginning of a lovely friendship with darling, bearded band manager Nick Ferman and a seriously up & coming band Personal Space Invaders.
A slight detour from my usual clientele and I found myself in a white washed, vacated store front with stylists, MUA’s and the works. Was I in seventh heaven? Absolutely.
The object was promotional shots, coupled with head shots of each of the members. And the freedom to just go with it. So I did.
And now for the results. My interpretation of The Band.
Enjoy.

And now for some of my favourites…

Many thanks to everyone who helped out on the shoot including Michael Jones for hair, Trudie Le Marie styling and Emma Sherry Makeup. And of course to Personal Space Invaders & manager Nick Ferman. You can check out their stuff on myspace/facebook.

On a recent journey back to the States, I received the great pleasure of photographing a very special newborn. The story behind her life is already filled with more excitement and heart-tuggin’, string-strummin’ tales than most of us will ever experience…

Precious baby {K} is a long awaited gift to her darling & patient parents…

After nearly a decade of trying to have their own children, {J} & {C} decided to try a different route; adoption…

Simple enough as it sounds, adoption is a very trying experience for most and it certainly was for {J} & {C}. But with much perseverance, faith & love, they finally became the very proud and adoring parents of little {K}.
They were simply oozing with affection for their little one – it was amazing to experience such a real life miracle.

As ever, I simply love baby feet…

Thank you so much for inviting me to document such an important part of your life. I wish you all the best and will see you in the States again!

Ah, home. What more can be said about the place where fond memories of childhood form the very core of our existence. In my happy little box of memories lie thoughts of basking in the summer sun, camp fires, S’Mores and Fluff’r'nutter sandwiches.
This visit was a particularly special visit, as Little {M} is now old enough to begin forming relationships & memories of her own in my little home town in Upstate New York. It warmed my heart to no end to see her become the best of friends with her two aunties & learn Shirley Temple songs from her Grandma. Not to mention running laps around her Papa. Love is in the air…

On one particular balmy pre-summer evening, a portion of my family & I decided to head to one of our favourite spots called Sackets Harbor. Historically famous and quintessentially American in cuteness, I found inspiration in nearly everything. This might turn into a family slide show, so beware…

(She wasn’t so keen on modeling for this one…)

If there is one thing you should know about Upstate New Yorkers, they seem to have a thing for moose. And general woodsy creatures. Not sure what the infatuation is, but they are everywhere…physically & philosophically.

And now for the doting parents (now Grandparents…)

Mmmmmmm…Italian food for the Italian fam! This is one of my sissies and I love her to bits.
And now for the end of part one. Part two to come in the near future. Keep your eyes here. Still to come – Band shots with Personal Space Invaders in London, Newborn {K} and more…
